Bring your donated United Methodist Committee on Relief Disaster Relief buckets to church and have them dedicated during worship. Our donated buckets will be forwarded to disaster sites where the need is greatest, including the Gulf Coast, Florida, and the Caribbean.

Our Fellowship Team is leading our shoe box collection effort as a part of Operation Christmas Child, starting this Sunday. All members and friends of the congregation are encouraged to assemble shoe boxes for donation.

Our Fellowship Team will be hosting a chili dinner following worship, providing chili, cheese, bread, and crackers.
Our own Ray Swartz, Pastor Todd, and Pastor Lida (from Heritage Christian Services and Zion) will lead a presentation that was made in June at the 2017 Summer Institute on Theology and Disability, which our congregation generously supported.

Items from "A Second Thought" will be sold at the East Rochester United Methodist Church. All the profit will support Heritage Christian Services' International Ministries outreach to people with disabilities around the world and in western New York.
Our next mission trip will be returning to Guatemala this August. Wheelchairs that have been collected and shipped to Guatemala have been re-manufactured. Our short-term mission team will fit people to these wheelchairs. For some, this will be the first wheel chair in their life. Our mission team will also take part in building two houses for impoverished Mayan families and distribute malnutrition kits to neighborhood families in dire need. Proceeds from "A Second Thought" and this sale will help make this possible!

Join us for this Holy Day service of Tenebrae. The Passion of Jesus Christ will be read in 16 segments, each while candles are progressively extinguished, allowing the darkness to enter.
A brief reflection will be offered. All will exit in silence. The sanctuary will be stripped bare after the service that preparations may begin for Easter Sunday.
All are welcome.
Join us for this special Maundy Thursday worship experience. The Gospel is John 13:1-17, 31b-35. Holy Communion will be celebrated; everyone is welcome to take part.
Maundy comes from the Latin word "Mandatum" - the first word of the statement by Jesus "I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another."
We will meet in the parking lot at 5:00 pm, attend 5:30 pm prayers, take part in a Q and A session following prayers, and go out to eat at a local restaurant afterwards (dutch treat).

The church is being asked to bring food to share (if you are able) and drinks - coffee, tea, soda, etc. We will also have a King Cake! Come early if you would like to help decorate.
